A number of recruits fail the medical because of their eyesight. You should be aware that the minimum standard for this is as follows-

1. Normal vision which is unaided (no contact lenses)The visual acuity should be 6/6 or better.

2. Aided Vision is when a soldier is able to reach the minimal standard using contact lenses only. Spectacles are NOT allowed and therefore recruits can not proceed further if they wear glasses.
